Second Magnificent Trailer for Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' Trilogy

Közzétette biropsze, 2012-09-19 17:34

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Trailer

"Home is now behind you. The world is ahead." Warner Bros/WingNut Films have unveiled the new trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the beginning of Bilbo's three-part adventure into Middle Earth. Martin Freeman plays Bilbo Baggins, and is joined by the company of dwarves, lead by Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. Of course, Sir Ian McKellen is back as Gandalf, and there's glimpses of Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving and even Sylvester McCoy as Radagast the Brown. This is a much more magnificent and, honestly, more exciting improvement over the first trailer, which I enjoyed, but I think Jackson is settling into the story and getting ready to bring us another spectacular fantasy epic.

Watch: Billy Crystal and Bette Midler in 'Parental Guidance' Trailer

Közzétette biroph, 2012-09-10 07:09

Parental Guidance

Despite a cameo in The Tooth Fairy in 2010, we haven't seen Billy Crystal in a live-action film since Analyze That in 2002, but now the actor is back with another sparsely seen popular talent from the 80's and 90's as he joins Bette Midler in Parental Guidance. The new comedy from family filmmaker Andy Fickman looks like it'll hit with the older crowd looking for something to do during the holidays when it hits theaters this Christmas, but it feels like a pretty lifeless family comedy. I don't mind seeing Crystal and Midler back on the big screen, but I just wish it was with some better material. Watch the trailer below!

Full Theatrical Trailer for The Wachowskis' and Tykwer's 'Cloud Atlas'

Cloud Atlas Trailer

"I can't explain, but I knew when I opened that door..." How do you condense the brilliance and beauty of that six-minute trailer into only two-and-a-half minutes? Time to find out. Warner Bros has just debuted the full theatrical trailer for Cloud Atlas, co-directed by the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer, featuring six storylines and a cast that plays various roles in all of them. There's a few glimpses of new footage, but for the most part it seems they're saving the best for the actual theatrical experience, which is the way it should be. Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Jim Broadbent & Hugo Weaving in Cloud Atlas below.

Barry Levinson's TIFF Selected Outbreak Horror 'The Bay' Trailer

Közzétette biropp, 2012-09-07 16:15

The Bay

Take a little bit of Paranormal Activity, throw in some Slither and shake it up with Contagion and that seems to be The Bay, the new found footage horror film from Barry Levinson. Found footage fare is hit or miss, but this looks to be unique in that the plot seems to be fairly realistic following some sort of viral outbreak caused by a small bug-like parasite. In addition, I think this is the first found footage film to be directed by an Oscar-winning filmmaker. There's a lot of moments in here that are reminiscent of other horror films, but with this grounded, found footage setting, they might be a little more terrifying. Watch it!

Watch: Renner & Arterton in 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Trailer

Közzétette biropsze, 2012-09-05 15:45

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Trailer

"We've gotten a taste of blood. Witch blood." It's been long overdue, but Paramount and MGM have finally unveiled the first official trailer for Tommy Wirkola's action-packed fantasy Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as your new Hansel and Gretel. This looks like all sorts of crazy fun with witches shooting Gatling guns, plenty of explosions and a hint at the gory action of a R-rated movie (though there's no official rating yet) and some pretty creepy, ruthless witches, including one played by Famke Janssen. This looks like it's going to be over-the-top horror action fun next year.

Shia LaBeouf Chases Robert Redford in 'Company You Keep' Trailer

Közzétette biropp, 2012-08-31 08:33

The Company You Keep

It's almost time for the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival to kick-off next month, and between now and then we'll see plenty of promotional materials for the films making their debut in Canada. Today brings one of the more exciting bits in the form of the first trailer for The Company You Keep, the adaptation of Neil Gordon's novel of the same name from director Robert Redford. The political thriller follows a young journalist (Shia LaBeouf) who stumbles upon the story of his career when he uncovers the identity of a wanted ex-radical activist (Redford) who has been underground for five decades. This looks like a great political thriller in the same vein as All the President's Men with a phenomenal ensemble cast. Watch it!

Watch: First Trailer for Ben Wheatley's Horror Comedy 'Sightseers'

Közzétette biropsze, 2012-08-29 11:46

Ben Wheatley's Sightseers

"I don't want this to ruin our holiday..." Are you ready for more wacky horror from the mind of the man behind Kill List? The next film directed by Kill List director Ben Wheatley is called Sightseers, a dark "horror" comedy about two young lovers, played by Alice Lowe and Steve Oram (who also wrote the film), who take a caravanning holiday around the British Isles. Sounds delightful, doesn't it? Oh but there's so much more to this, and it's oh so much fun. I first saw this in Cannes (review here) and enjoyed it, now it's getting a UK release first, and The Guardian (via Twitch) has debuted the trailer. It's devious, dark fun!

New Trailer & TV Spots for Clint Eastwood's 'Trouble with the Curve'

Közzétette biropv, 2012-08-26 09:42

Trouble with the Curve Trailer

"I'm not helpless." "No - you're crazy!" Warner Bros has started debuting some extra marketing for Robert Lorenz's Trouble with the Curve, which hits theaters in a surprisingly quick four weeks. Trouble with the Curve stars Clint Eastwood as an aging, ailing baseball scout, Amy Adams as his daughter, as the two team up for one last recruiting trip. The cast also features John Goodman, Justin Timberlake and Robert Patrick. Our friends at The Film Stage not only found a different "90s" edit of the original trailer, but four TV spots for the movie. Which I will honestly say looks good, or at least quite entertaining. Enjoy!

Watch: Third Red Band 'Lawless' Trailer Ups the Violence & Nudity

Közzétette biropsze, 2012-08-22 11:29

Lawless Red Band Trailer

"We're survivors. We control the fear. And without the fear, we are all as good as dead." TWC has debuted a fantastic new red band trailer for John Hillcoat's Lawless on VICE. While it does show a little too much, it seems like this is the trailer they've been waiting to show, required to have a red band tag. The trailer really captures the reality, brutality, and honest story you'll find in Lawless. Shia LaBeouf leads the cast, but Tom Hardy is the real star. They're joined by Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska & Guy Pearce. There's more nudity and violence in this than the previous trailers, and I love how it builds to an intensity.

Watch: Devil in the Woods 'The Barrens' Trailer with Stephen Moyer

Közzétette biropsze, 2012-08-22 11:28

The Barrens Trailer

"The legend goes, the Devil himself lives in these woods..." Anchor Bay & Voltage Pictures have debuted a trailer for Darren Lynn Bousman's The Barrens, his latest horror-thriller, this one set out in the woods. Stephen Moyer stars as the father of two daughters who he is taking on a camping trip to the rustic forests of southern New Jersey. There he encounters what might be Satan himself. Mia Kirshner ("The Vampire Diaries"), Erik Knudsen (Scream 4) and Allie MacDonald (House At The End Of The Street) co-star in this twisted chiller about a new kind of horror that lives–and kills–in a place called The Barrens. Have fun!
